Thanks for letting me know. I'll look at the instructions and see if I could have got something mixed up.

Sue ... I just made a basic ..3 dot layers with shadows and moved them around until a shadow was on top of one of the dots, ran the action and all the shadows were removed from the whole piece except the inner shadow of one dot on top of another .... I've also tried it highlighting different layers and then highlighting all layers with the same result

Sue your example isn't showing up. I'd like to see it.

It wouldn't show up earlier, I had to wait until the site caught up to my image lol ... as you can see the shadow is there between the black and white dots ...

Regarding your circles, I assume you know the shadow is not showing on the large beige circle because it is behind the black circle. Therefore the interior shadows are only showing on the white circle.

The following example shows the interior shadows. I made the shadows different colors to show the interior shadows. I ran the action and then I shadowed the cluster with black. So the black shadow is NOT part of the action. I've made all the shadows big and obvious to show this example. Notice that I purposely made each circle so that it would cast a shadow on the other circles. If I had not run the action all the colored shadows would show on the outside of this cluster of circles. Also this action would most likely not be used on your own layout, but for a cluster than you wanted to share. You would run this action so the end user would be able to shadow the cluster as they desired. Does this help?
