Default January Heritage Challenge

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had wonderful holidays and that 2009 will be a healthy and happy year. There were so many inspiring layouts in the Heritage Gallery during the past year and I look forward to seeing what this year will hold.

For January, let's focus on our Parents. Working backwards through the generations, they would be the beginning generation and the one that you should know the most about. Let your journaling tell a story about them that will allow future generations to feel as though they knew them. I'm sure there are many interesting things we can share about our parents. I'll look forward to the layouts filling the gallery this month.

Challenge Rules:

1. Theme is Parents

2. Challenge runs from January 1st to the 31st.

3. You must use a kit or products created by SAS Designers, freebies are ok.

4. Your LO must include journaling that describes your parents or a story about them.

5. You may submit more than one LO.

6. You should post your LO to the Heritage LO of the Month Gallery AND post a link here, so that we can leave comments.

7. Double Duty LO's are okay, but remember to upload to the Heritage Gallery.

Since your LO's will be created with SAS products, remember to copy them to the SAS-y Princess Gallery too. At the end of the month, I will post a poll so that a winning LO might be chosen. The winner will receive a $5 coupon to spend in the store. We will have a posting bonus for all who participate, and I will put the preview up as soon as I have it.

I tried to upload my lo, but it won't let me. Since no one else had posted a reply, I don't know if they're having the same problem or if it was a fluke...

This is the message I get:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 14400 bytes) in /home/stoneac1/public_html/gallery/image-inc.php on line 102

I had resized my photo to 600X600, so I don't think it's my pic is too big... is it?

Just thought I'd let you know.

I normally resize my LO's at 500 x 500 and use the 72dpi setting. When I have difficulty uploading, it is usually because I am trying to upload the original file and not my resized one. I'll have someone check to see if something happened. In the mean while, you might try uploading again. Thanks!

Hi,
Your first attempt to upload was a 2mb file so JanW is probably correct, you most likely just grabbed the wrong one when you tried to upload. I have deleted it and you should now be able to upload the one that was also in your upload folder that was the correct size. The large size blocks any further uploading until the entire upload folder is deleted.

Thank you! Is there a place to go to learn about clearing it, because that must have been it. I'd like to know how to do that myself so I don't have to ask silly questions...

Here's my LO about my dad:

I'll try to get one out about Mom before the end of the month - sending my computer in for a new keyboard tomorrow.

I'm always confused as to where to post the Heritage Challenge layouts and links. I did post it in the other forum. And here it is for this one.
