Getting rid of glued on labels or decals etc.

Ok, here is another hint that you guys may or may not know about -- getting something that is glued to your windshield or whatever off, including the glue residue: Soak a papertowel or tissue or whatever in vinegar. Stick it on the item and let it sit. As the vinegar soaks into the label, it will soften the glue and then you can pull it right off. Use the papertowel to wipe the excess glue off and you are done.

I wonder if that would work on my wood paneled wall in my family room downstairs? Or if it would harm the wood? there was some of those cork tile squares on the wood paneling . I got the squares off but they broke as I did this & left pieces of cork still glued on the wall. I've tried diffent products to get the rest off with little luck. Any other suggestions??-------
