Here is another tip that works great for me:
Put a little dish soap (the liquid type you use in the sink) in the pan and some water. Put it on to boil. Boil for a few minutes and let it sit. No need to scrape the pan first (get rid of all the excess food tho...LOL). Everything stuck to the bottom of the pan will wipe right out. Works every time! |

Well, you ladies are just the cleaning guru's over here!
This will work wonders when I burn the pasta sauce to the bottom of the pan! ![]() Anyone else forget boiling water on the stove until all the water is boiled away and the pan just burns?! Yeah... been there, done that! ![]() I really need a computer in the kitchen... that way, I can keep watch over my stove while I'm scrapping! hehehehe....

I am always scrapping while I cook. I bought another little kitchen timer that I take into the computer room with me. I set it so I don't forget to check what is cooking. It has saved me so many times!

Kinda takes me back to when my 40 year old was a baby -- I got up in the night to warm her bottle in a white porcelain pan - then went to lay down while it heated. The water boiled dry, it melted the bottle (plastic), then the milk boiled dry -- the pan then was hot enough that it melted and left a white porcelain coating on the electric burner! And that was long before computers!

I burnt macoroni and cheese in a Lifetime Cookware pan
. I was in a hurry to get it cooked, and had the temperature too high . I scrapped out all of the noodles that I could filled the pan 3/4 full with water, added baking soda and boiled it on the stove. The loose peices float right up to the top.
