SAS-Y Sketch Part 1

Will now officially begin!! I have 3 sketches already lined up for you to make multiple page layouts and here is the first one.

To help you tie up the end of 2007 I have created this sketch for you:

What did Santa bring you? What did he bring the kiddies? What did he bring that you brought back? LOL. Fill the sleigh with whatever you like to complete the first part of this Sketch Trio! Here is your Posting Bonus for completing this round:

The rules are simple:

1. You can use any colors or kit that you wish
2. All entries must be posted to the SAS-y Sketch Challenge Gallery with a link here.
3. All entries must be submitted by midnight on January 15th to be eligible for the posting bonus.

I just had the most fun doing that layout LOL, giggling my head off as I went and, let me tell you, as a rule, I just DON'T Giggle!! LOL.

I don't really know how to work with sketches.After some trial and error I think I figured out how to do most of it. But I need to learn yet how to put Ds's on the sketch pieces themselves.Was able to add them to embellishments added but not to the sketch pieces.I would have liked to pop out the tree,sleigh a bit .I posted a thread in tutorials for some help/ suggestions. I am learning so much just by doing the challenges

I used the pen tool to trace around the tree and the sleigh. A lot of work. How did all of you get the sleigh onto your layouts looking so spiffy

I used the magic wand to select by color. For the two white parts, I selected it all, again using the magic wand. Copied and pasted to a new layer and then selected just the part of the white I wanted with the magic selection brush. All using PSE5.

After looking at the rest of your LOs, I feel like it's pretty plain. My imagination is just not up there today, I guess. I also forgot to put credits in my description. There's not much to put - except the sketch is by Terrell, and the font is Patient Paige. I did all the re-coloring of the background and sleigh myself.

I just used different surfaces and shapes from my scrapbooking software to create this - nothing from a kit. Thanks for the cute template! Here's my page:
