Default Death in the family

Many of you know that I have been caring for my mom in our home since Feb. She celebrated her 95th birthday on June 16th. One week later she went to be with my dad who passed on 1994. We had mom under hospice care and she passed on here at my house with my oldest daughter and I by her side. We took her back to our home town [190 miles away] and had a celebration of her life service on Thursday, June 26th.

We had plans for a family reunion this coming week already in place before her passing - so I told the 3 [out of 5] who don't live here to not change their plans and fly in as scheduled. 2 of them - and their spouses arrived yesterday and the last one will arrived on July 2nd. It is wonderful having them here.

I hope to be back on-line in a week or two.

So sorry to hear that Kay. She lived a long life and I'm sure you feel blessed to have had her that long. And to have your daughter with you, how comforting. Now to have a family reuinion, I'm sure there will be lots of reminiscing, laughter and tears, but what a good way to grieve and be able to carry on - with all the support of your family. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Thank you all for the love and caring you have expressed for myself and the family. We were so blessed to have mom as long as we did. Having our grown children and their spouses here for this week has help so much. We have shared laughter, memories, and a few tears - but it has been a healing time for all of us.
