Bipmap graphics is drawn using dots Vector graphics is drawn using lines and angles vector graphics expands and contracts cleaner dpi = dots per inch: 300 is good for printing/ 72 is for web in PS and CS, you can change it under image size. |

Katlen, thanks so much!!! Didn't know about the 72dpi. I already made a couple solids and saved them at 300. But I also saved the PSDs. I only have PSE 8 to work with. Since I am never going into professional designing, I won't spend the money on PS.

answer: We will set up a corresponding gallery for everyone to put in LO's made with contest entries.
It is not required for the Designer to create LO's as well. |

Nancy, in your pse program -
when you use the type tool or the custom shape tool, those are examples of vector. Here is a comparison of vector vs non vector using the Typing tool. ![]() Play with some to see the difference. When a designer is creating an element, its best to keep the vector and not simplify the element. If the edges get soft...and fuzzy, not so good. Super round one palette and I took some good blue moon shots last night!!! m

the 72 dpi is for the preview only - just do it up regular (300) then save it like you do any layout you upload.

Wow! Toiny, what a gorgeous pallette. I think I'll play around too. I never get very far in this process but I have a lot more tools now. Thank you for this opportunity and these terrific colors. And thank you for letting us use glitter.

I do apologize, I feel like I'm repeating a question but I didn't quite understand the wording of the answer.
My understanding of a solid paper is one color with no texture or anything else, like a one colored piece of red cardstock for instance. Is that correct? Or is can it be embossed paper? or can it have a "black" overlay? I'm so sorry. It seems like the term should be so simple and it was for me until answers were given and then it was all muddy. :/ Thank you.

No need to apologize! A solid is all one color, though there can be some additional color in it, however, it should have texture. Whether the texture is added by overlay, or brushes, or both is up to you. It is okay to have some edging as well.
