September Surprise Me! Border Challenge

Sometimes when I create a layout, I want the photograph to be the only thing on the page, except perhaps for a date and/or very little text. Yet at the same time, I want some added interest. I have found that borders really come in handy when I find myself in this spot! However, sometimes a more traditional scrapbook page, featuring any number of photos, can be enhanced with the use of a border. These are the concepts that the Border Challenge is based upon. No what what type of scrapbook page you create, to participate in the Surprise Me! Border Challenge you must .... well... create a border. Each month different challenges will be offered to you........ Here is what I have in mind for September.

I like things to flow smoothly. I don't like it when they don't.
If I have 8 photographs I would like to scrap and want a 2 page layout, I want those pages to be opposing pages, so I can see all 8 photos and the accompanying story all neatly laid out for me. I don't want to see page 1, and then have to turn the page to see page 2.

Your challenge this month is to make a 2 page (opposing page) layout, and it must contain a border.

You can do it makeyesups! I know you can! Just pick an event that you have multiple pictures for and make a wider page than the usual 12 X 12! Jen's templates (especially the Double Trouble ones) can be really helpful if you need some inspiration!

Jan, this is darling. I LOVE the journaling... it just took me back about 30 years to when my kids were that small! Adorable page, and love the delicate border you put around each page!

Ok I have a question.. I know there is an easy way to make a 2 page layout so everything lines up right.. BUT I can not for the life of me remember how it's done in PSE8 Can someone please help me? I sure would appreciate it.. ;-) Thanks

Hi blue24k2000! Well, there may be some super way to do it, but I usually just create a canvas 7200x3600, then drag a guideline to the 3600 mark (right in the middle of the 7200 page). Just design my layout, and then save it in 2 parts. Does that make sense?
