What do you listen to while you design?

I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't work in complete quiet. My brain just stops. So when I'm designing, I'm usually listening to Pandora radio - and please don't laugh when I tell you which stations.

If I'm working with darker colors or a very pale palette, I listen to my Taylor Swift - White Horse Radio station. If I'm working with bright (or at least well saturated) colors, I listen to Glee Cast Radio.

What do you listen to when you design, if anything? What gets your mojo flowing?

Isn't that funny? I have to have complete quiet when I design. I don't even listen to music when I read. I like to totally concentrate on what I am doing. But I'm sure I'm the minority. If I was going to listen to something though, it would be BMP on satellite radio. (that's dance music...it gets my juices flowing).

If I'm designing the only think I listen is my own brain gears. Even if my kids are at home (the big and the small one) I close my studio door! I love heard my thoughts. Well this is a long history! But if some day I'm like crazy, then a have some play list at YouTube like Tom Jones, Seal, Zarzuela (Spanish Classical Music) or some Spanish singers guys.

I'm a mix...once I start to hit a wall in my designing I play music. I like all sorts of stuff ranging from Celtic to Within Temptation, Tans Siberian, Colbie Caillat - but one of my all time favorites is Two Steps from ****. It's actually NOT a bad bad or negative, not even hard rock or anything - it's beautiful music that ranks right up there with NightWish. Some Jon Bon Jovi is always a good thing as well!

I listen to classical music. Mozart works great as anti-depressant and usually gives me a creativity-boost
But I also love most of the other baroque composers, Handel, Vivaldi etc.

When I'm very deep in concentration it often happens that the CD runs to an end and I don't even notice it. So I don't really mind working in silence.
And for reading, studying etc. I need the quiet.

I don´t mind the quiet times, but if I wanna hear music I just play something from my Youtube play lists....what ever I feel like, it can be oldies, Eminem, Adele or Johnny Cash are some of my favorites

The music I listen to is the voices and laughter coming from the next room. My house is always full of people. When I get to enjoy that rare opportunity, and can listen to music when I design, it's Matchbox 20, Patrick Joseph, Lisa Brigatino, and alot of indie artists.

Interesting how different we all are! I am usually just listening to the kids playing, and I usually have re-runs of something going on in the background on the TV. But nothing that needs my full focus, I need to concentrate on what I'm doing.

Most times its the TV going as I need some type of noise unless I am really stuck on a LO then I need complete quiet. That is sometimes hard in itself with 3 chihuahua's who like to bark at anything under the sun!

Usually the TV is on when I'm designing. But I do sometimes just play my playlist on my iTunes account on my computer. Noise doesn't really bother me while I'm designing. I seem to be able to filter stuff - probably from raising children!

HAH!!! Grandkids yelling and playing outside my door!!! I love it when I scrap at night and everyone is in bed and it is absolutely quiet!!! shhhhhhh------

Hmm.. Usually my 4yo! lol! But on the rare occasion I get to put on my music, it 's a mixture of aussie rock to country to classical.. what ever mood I'm in! lol! I have been listening to the Breaking Dawn soundtrack lately & Adele. I know what you mean about filtering noise Darlene! lol!

I rarely listen to music when I'm scrapping/designing but if I do it's usually Green Day, Tori Amos or Adele is my new favorite I occasionally put on some LMFAO if I'm in a super mood, and dance in my chair!

I'm usually watching shows on Netflix off my ipad - current faves are Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, Buffy, Charmed, Breaking Bad & Lost - of course, I've already seen these shows, but I just can't help watching them over and over again!

my kids screaming normally... lol. but now that my DD is back to school, i hear my DS playing with his online pre-school. at least that's what today is like. if it's music, i just shuffle iTunes with Tori Amos, Florence + Machine, Nine Inch Nails, etc.

I waited to see what everyone listens to, hoping I wasn't alone... but it seems I am. Sigh. I like a little bit of noise when I design. Ozzy is my favorite, but I also like mellower stuff like Neil Young, Tom Petty and newer stuff that my daughter puts on. No idea what those guys are called LOL.

I appear to be an anomaly ... I listen to audio books.
When I couldn't get a copy of the third Hunger Games book fast enough, I discovered that I could download the audio book from the library ... without even leaving my house!!! and put it on my phone. Now I am constantly reading like 3 books at a time ... an audio book, ebook (also on the phone, man do I love modern technology!), and an actual book book.
