To all our friends along the west coast of Florida and in the Panhandle---PLEASE stay safe!!!! Having spent so many years with the Red Cross Disaster Team, I don't even take tropical storms lightly. They are all dangerous---especially this one because of its size.

Hope it does not do damage and everyone stays safe, but those of us in the Midwest Drought situations are hoping to see some of the remnants! Just don't want storms, just rain!

The southern and west coast of Florida has faired pretty well. We've had some power outages, and some flooding in low lying areas. Flooding mainly due to being so soooo saturated since June and Trop. Debby.
No school today. All the best to the panhandle - thru- Al, Ms, La, and Texas. m

I don't think I have ever seen a storm drag on like this one! But thats what so scary about it---its going to linger and dump LOTS of rain. And now its going to hit New Orleans on the 7th anniversary of Katrina.

WOW! We got hit today. There was one huge outer band that got seperated from the hurricane by a northward wind and moved up over us. It poured torrents most of the day today and we were under flash flood warnings all day until 8 tonight. Charleston got hit bad. Stores and homes were badly flooded. Charleston and the outlying islands are all at sea level so they don't stand much of a chance with a bad rain and high tide. I had do to errands today and drove through some flooded streets. SCARY!!

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Coastal Alabama saw some storm surge and a few power outages, mainly on Dauphin Island (a barrier island at the mouth of Mobile Bay). There were several tornadoes spawned near us as Isaac came ashore, but thankfully none of these ever touched down. Now we have tons of rain, with some flooding in low lying areas, but no one has been hurt in this area.

Thank you for the updates. I had no idea Charleston was experience issues b/c of Isaac. My prayers to everyone that has been flooded already. I'm glad that no one has been hurt so far. Yay!
