Second Chance: Week 4

OH no, I could just cry.. sat up until 3:30 am working on the second layout.. wanting to be able post both layouts the same day. I saved, saved as, blah blah blah.. well, I just got a chance to sit down to start playing here in the studio.. opened up my saved layouts so I could admire them before posting them.. I see that a line of Journaling is off.. ok no problem..opened my PSE8..clicked on last saved psd.. it came up and to my surprise there are NO LAYERS.. so I can NOT fix my goof.. I am so upset.. the only thing I know to do is just remake it all from scratch AGAIN !! *LOL* WHY OR WHY ????????? hahahahahahahahaha

It's been awhile since I worked with PSE, but you should be able to use that layout without having to completely redo it. Simply make a duplicate, then began to add new layers to the layout. If you need to remove something, use the selection tool, then repair the text, or whatever needs fixing. I've had to use this method in PS cs5 a few times.

Here is my first LO using My First Day (Sampler):

Resized and rotated several elements. Applied Drop Shadows and bevels from the PSE8 Effects Menu.
Changed opacity of the paint smear . Used PSE8 Custom Shape Tool for the book mat and the pad of paper, then clipped papers from sampler to them. Used 39 Smooth font for the title then clipped the green paper to it. Also modified the title by expanding 20 px, created an adjustment layer for the expansion and filled it with white from the paint bucket to make the title stand out more.
