Kaye, it is kind of complicated to install styles in PSE (sadly) and I would be happy to help you out, but I don't have time right now and might forget can you email me at nibblesskribbles@gmail.com to remind me>

I have Photoshop Elements 7 and this is how i load layer styles
Make sure PSE is closed, then go to Start Menu, then Computer - Program Data - Adobe Photoshop Elements - 7.0 - Photo Creations and then Layer Styles. Copy the ASL file and XML file to the Layer Styles file. Open Photoshop Elements and open the Layer Styles in the Effects Palette. If you still can't see it, click on "show all" and it should be visible. Hope this helps

Thanks Sharon, I did do all that but it doesn't sho. Thing different though is mine doesn't say photo creations, I go to presets and then styles, they are all asl files in that folder.
Snickerdoodle is going to do a tutorial soon so I await that. Thanks so much for answering though, I thought that is all I needed to do but to no avail.

Yes, this is the process, but for some people these files are 'hidden'! And they are in a slightly different spot on a Mac! This Saturday, Karen of Snickerdoodle will be doing a blog post with a tutorial for loading styles into PSE. I will be sure to pop in and add any additional comments, especially for Mac users in the comments!

For me To install an fx style in (I use Win 7) Adope PSE9 from inside Windows Explorer, I go to... C-Users-AppData-Roaming-Adobe-Photoshop Elements-9.0-Presets-Styles and then drag and drop it into the folder. Then open PSE, click on the custom shape tool, and you should see it in the styles list when you expand the side arrow. HTH
