Default March Template Challenge

It's back ... by popular demand we are reviving the Template Challenge! What's even more special
is that it will be hosted by several of the designers here at theStudio and I'm the lucky one that
gets to start things off.

The template I've chosen is one of my Photo Pockets Pocket Templates. There are actually
2 templates ... one is upright and the other is rotated (yes, there is a difference). You may use
these as-is or make them your own. If you're not sure how to work with these, I have a tutorial
on my blog.

You can download these templates **HERE**

... and here's my example layout using some photos of my good looking grandson.

Be sure to post your layout in the Template Challenge Gallery, then come back and post it back
here in this thread along with a link to your post in the gallery so we can leave you lots of love.

Your reward for completing this challenge is not only some free templates, but you also automatically
get a 10% discount in theStudio's Personal Use Store for the entire month of April.

Here's another example ... PLUS, I use Deanna's quote from her Quote Challenge ...
and Briget's Flowery Meadow kit showing you how to use a kit with the photo pocket templates.

Jil - thank you for the templates.
I agree - it's great to see this challenge again. Will be fun with different designers too.
Love the look of photo pockets but never seem to get the shadowing just right. This will be a challenge for me - love it!! I'll be back.

Yeah a template challenge. I love these. I have also never worked with pocket templates. It will be interesting to see how these come out.

With my templates, I've added shadows to the placeholders. If you're not clipping to the placeholder, just drag the effect from it to your photo (hope this makes sense).

Basically, you just want a very subtle shadow for anything in a pocket. If you add more things (like I did in my second sample), just shadow them the way you normally would.

Here is my offering. I am now a convert of doing pocket-style pages! Had never done them before. Love the different look.

Jill,
I am having a problem downloading some of the .png files for the template. The error message says the path is too long (?name of the file is too long?). I don't know how to work around this.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Steph

WOW!!! You ladies are knocking these templates out of the park.

I wasn't real sure about them myself ... even though I started designing them (btw -- Eva was the one that got me looking into making them). But once I started using them, there was no looking back. I still enjoy regular layouts, but I totally stink at layouts with multiple photos. These templates took care of that for me.

I am really not trying to be a problem child! It didn't matter what the source of the files, I could not drag & drop the files in the PNG folders to my hard drive. I kept getting the error that the file path was too long. You do have very long file names, ma'am. I'm not sure if the drag and drop method was the problem, but I did find a way to copy and paste them into my files. So I think I am good . . . . for now!

Steph
