Spotlight Challenge April 1st - 30th

Welcome to the Gallery Spotlight Challenge for March! This month's challenge runs from April 1st - 30th, so there's plenty of time to participate. Newbies and seasoned scrappers are all welcome to join in the fun!

This time around we're spotlighting the beautiful gallery of kimbytx. Her gallery has almost 50 beautiful layouts to gain inspiration from to scraplift for this challenge. Even though she's a member of my personal CT, I didn't choose her gallery this month for that reason. Kim is an expert with photo extractions and photo enhancements, which is one of the main reasons why I adore all of her layouts. Good luck choosing just one!

The idea of a "scraplift" is not to make an exact copy of someone else's layout, but to simply use it to gain inspiration from. Please browse kimbytx's gallery and choose one (or more!) layout to scraplift. It could be as simple as using the same color scheme, kit, or theme - or as detailed as matching the placement of all of the elements in the layout. The main thing to remember is to have fun with it! Take a moment to leave Kim some comments while you're browsing her gallery.

Gorgeous layout!! Her adorable facial expression makes me chuckle.... too cute! I too love the mosaic you created in the background, and this whole layout is so fun & playful. Beautiful job with the scraplift!

kimbytx has mostly LOs of her children which made me feel that I should do one with mine but I'm still scanning all my heritage photos, lol, haven't gotten to my children yet so, I used a family photo I had "kicking around".

I chose kimbytx's LO by the name of "My Girl Mackenzie: one year old" for my inspiration. I liked the femininity of it and the artsy feel. I didn't have any sisters, only brothers, and I didn't have any daughters, only sons, so "my world" is not very feminine, lol. I think that the true challenge of this for me was in trying to keep the masculinity of my family from overpowering the LO - I hope the swirls did the trick.
