I just received this Email:

it's manipulated!!!!!!!!
And don't give any account informations.
If you want to make sure that your accountinformations are correct.
open a new browserwindow and type the adressline by yourself!!

Yes, Nighty is SOOOOOOOOO right!!! This is what happened to me a few months ago and it DOES look completely official. Like a jerk, I clicked on the link but nothing more, I checked my acct and all was well so I reported it to Paypal.

Just clicking on the link was enough though. These slime balls got my bank acct info from my paypal and WITHDREW $10,000!!!! It was covered by insurance thank God and it only cost me $25, but my bank acct was linked to my late partners acct. in case I ever needed money, and they money came out of HIS acct!!!! :eek:

So yes, DO NOT CLICK on any links in ANY email unless you know for a fact it's real.

Hi,
I just got this message yesterday too! Because I have received it before I also sent it to PayPal right away so they could shut down the link. You can just never be too sure! The message does look very official but PayPal will NEVER send a general message addressed to 'Customer'. :eek:

Speaking of other annoying things - there have been several spam messages posted here in the forum, too. Should we report them to a mod or just assume that one of the moderators will catch it?

Linda, there's an option to "report this post". If you spot spam, which has been quite prevalent lately, please do click on it. Janalyn and I are both pretty diligent about finding and deleting the spam. The spammers are quite persistant, signing in under new names every time we ban them. Between us all, we can keep zapping the spammers.

Yup, I also got that message and several others!! A bunch about authorized e-bay payments, and multiple sign in attempts.... I don't access my paypal account too frequently, so I knew right away that they were Phishing scams!! You can report them to paypal by forwarding the message to Spoof@paypal.com This way they have a copy of it and can shut it down!! I really do despise these people who do these things!! ad:


I have to restore my entire system on my desktop because of a stupid spyware I was infected with... luckily, I can still access my files and get them burned before doing it, so I won't lose anything, thank god!! I don't know what I would do if I lost my pics of my kids!! Even though I back up my pics every month, I would cry forever losing just that one months worth of pics!!
