We need new blinkies!

With our site's new look, comes the need for new blinkies. I made our current ones, but I'm really not a good blinkie maker. I know there are better blinkie designers out there who can create some really SAS-y blinkies.

In total we need three blinkies. A general Stone Accents Studio blinkie, a Creative Team Blinkie, and a Designer Blinkie.

If you want to incorporate the button stones in your design you can download them here.

You may post more than one entry of each type needed (Stone Accents Studio, CT, Designer.)

The blinkie should incorporate the provided color palette (see New Blinkie Palette Posted!! above.) To get the colors into your document use your color picker or eye dropper tool to sample the colors.

All blinkies should be sized at 150x50 pixels.

All blinkies should contain the store web address.

The selected blinkies will become the property of SAS.

We'll let you be creative with the rest, but SAS should play in somewhere.

Now let's get to the good stuff... prizes. Each winning blinkie will receive 6 SAS free Mega Kits or your choice. Have all the mega kits already? No problem. You'll have a year from the date of issue to collect your six. If you design more than one winning blinkie (example, the store and the CT) you'll receive both prizes (12 mega kits in this example). In all we'll be giving away 18 mega kits for 3 blinkies. Everyone who submits a blinkie will receive a thank you gift. So everyone comes away a winner.
Blinkie submissions are due by midnight the 27th to give us time to select the winners and announce them before our birthday bash is over.

I've never made a blinky before anyone know if there is a certain program to make them with and if so can we get it free and where. I would like to try this!

Yes it would be fun to make a blinkie.
I never know how to upload so they blink!!! Do you have to use a program like photobucket in order to get them to blink?

As long as it's saved as an animated .gif, then putting it in something like photobucket will retain it's blinkie-ness. But you should also be able to email them without losing the effects.

hmmm... I just taught myself how to make blinkies (See "Candee Stalker" blinkie in siggy! :p ) I only know the very basics on how to get the text to animate... haven't played around with the scrolling effects and such!

I made the blinkie is PSE5, I don't know if there are other blinkie maker software out there though... will have to go a searching! LOL!

I just wanted to add a little note here, We have a lot of nice colors to pick from on the header but we have not settled on what the final colors will be for the site so it will be a couple of days before we get the palette posted for this contest. JulieO

Good question. You could just pull the colors from the header, but I'll ask Julie about an official palette.

Is anything from the header going to be offered to make the site blinkie with? I think the engraved stone would be great to use in the blinkie, to match the site! Maybe not offered to all members, but to those that want to participate in the contest? I just love the way it looks, and it fits the name of the site so well!
