Blinkie Contest Update

The reason I have not put the palette up for the Blinkie Contest yet is because we are still considering making changes to the header and the rest of the colors of the site. I have a real pretty version of the header where the stone tablet has a blue tint to it. I had intended to have the redesign done last week but I got sidetracked by the speed problems. I still have a few more things to do to insure that the site doesn’t slow down again but I will have it done soon and the new header up by Friday at the latest and then I will post the blinkie palette. Now that we have a new look here the old blinkie really clashes so I am really looking forward to a new one.

Dang. I have one almost finished except for the stone tablet.
Here's what I had. I just had to put the stone tablet on and resize it. I planned on putting the stone tablet overlapping the eles just like on the header just above the website.

Ooooh, I love it BTW... would you mind telling me how you made it?? What program? I tried to make a blinkie but wasn't real happy with how it turned out using a free trial download.

Photoshop CS3... Photoshop has an animation feature. Here's a good tut.

Also I start with it twice the size because it's easier to work with and then I size it down after I'm done.

I had found a better tut but then afterwards I couldn't find it again. I hate it when that happens! LOL!

I used skrapper digitals kit dream and the stom she send me.

Sorry, I'm a bit slow. Just like she said... image... image size... then (I start with 300 by 100) I size it down to the 150x50. Then save for web and devices and save as a gif.

That's awesome!! I really like how the butterfly knocks over the stone! So cool! Only one suggestion... maybe try to darken up the words on the stone. I think because it is small, the words are getting lost and you can't see them very well. You did a fabulous job!

Thanks utmommy23 for the link to the tut and the advice on starting large and then sizing down! I don't use CS3 but maybe there won't be much difference. The thing that annoyed me the most about the free trial software was that even when I kept adjusting the speed for the animations it just kept going too fast... Have a Great Weekend!

Thanks for your kind comment. The stone came with the text so I have to figure out how to make it more readable.
