See, I really think it has something to do with the switching of servers... I didn't have any problems with the Gallery until the switch in September. Then, when I tried to sign into the gallery directly, I would get the 404 error message! Remember, when they switched the servers, there was a gallery glitch and they had lost some layouts and had to replace some of the thumbnails... I, myself, lost 3 of my earlier layouts that I just never bothered to reupload. The glitch was supposedly fixed... now I'm wondering if it's still hanging around?
