How do I make my own elements with Gimp?

Hello, new to this place and learning soo much..Would like to learn how to make my own elements. Still searching for tutorials...Do you know of one that would be of use to me? Please let me know..

so sorry someone hasn't responded... I don't know if there are too many people using GIMP... I had good intentions of downloading and learning GIMP, just never had the time!!

So, I will be of no help to you! But, you should be able to get some great tut's from their site... lots of scrappers say their tut's are really good!
