Lost my beloved tomcat today
My darling tomcat Spetter (Dutch for Hunk, for he looked absolutely gorgeous), ran into the bus today, just after I got on. He saw me off, like he often does, but started crossing the street a little too soon. Instead of running onto the street behind the bus he smashed rignt into the rear and broke his neck.
I got out, ran back, picked him up and held him for ages, we finally buried him in the garden. My little man, we called him the Italian Stallion, because he was so small and yet so macho, and at the same time a real mommy's boy. He was my little furry lover boy. I cannot imagine I will have to go to sleep in a minute and not have him curl up on my pillow with his head on my chest and his warm furry body alongside my face and neck. I cannot bear to go to bed without my little lover.......

OH No Anja, that's so sad, and it must have been terrible to have witnessed it as well. Big warm hugs go out to you hun, they are like our children our pets are!! I'm so sorry hun!

Oh, Anja, I’m so sorry to read this. I cried a little for Spetter and for you to have to be without him. I know you love your cats just as much as I love mine. Sending prayers, hugs and good thoughts for strength and healing at this very hard time!

Oh Anja, I remember when my cat Samantha was hit by a car. My oldest son and I found her when we left to drive him to school, and we rushed her to the vet. Unfortunately she had severe closed head trauma and died there. I was so glad she was still semi-conscious when we found her so she didn't die feeling alone in the cold. Her sister missed her dreadfully and died under terrible circumstances a month later. I haven't lived anywhere I could have cats since - I miss them so much.

It makes me cry, too.
I can almost feel the woolly softness of his fur.... It is comforting, though, it really looks llike he is in heaven, looking down on me.
