I'm loving this guys! A little hint, I do this with most kits I make, create a style or two you love and use that to make a couple different, matching elements. Wordart, custom shapes (ie hearts), frames, all lend themselves well to being "styled".

You can also try taking an existing element (wedding goblet, flower, etc.) and applying a style. That might get you a 2nd element with little effort. I'm not saying elements should be effortless LOL, but sometimes simple is best.

So glad you said this! I have 2 similar base elements with different styles and graphic added, and was having an awful time deciding which to include.

Toot! Toot! I have finally finished. I am so proud of this kit.... I think it is the most beautiful kit I have made to date. Thanks for all the support and help throughout this process. I hope you all like what I came up with. (side note: by the time I got to 30, I had so many more ideas I had to make myself stop)

Another tip, if you have flowers that just aren't matching your palette, you can change them up with some masking and color overlays. That's how I got my flowers to match my palette

Quick question... Since we aren't being voted on except by the Admin. Team does that mean it is okay to give out "extras" when blogging?? So, do we have to have permission per each person we've gotten Styles from (as it would be time consuming), or do we just make a statement in our TOU that we used so & so's style, to add special emphasis on our elements to make them look attractive?

I'd love to be able to get this Tablet, however 30 elements seem like a lot, & I'm not sure if I can get it done in time (my fault, as I do not see myself as good with elements). I should of asked this question sooner.......!!

I need to learn to make styles one of these days!!

Cyndi: You do not need special permission, but the TOUs do need to read as CU-okay and/or that it is okay to use in creating freebies. Most personal-use styles will not be okay to use in the creation of a kit, whether for sale or give as a freebie.

So, it is okay to use styles as long as the CU says it is okay?

Note: I know some of them say it is okay, when creating something for someone, however it doesn't specify if it is for print, or can be used for scrap kit purposes. I'm guessing it is for printing purposes, & they do not mention the use for creating scrap kits, weather free or not.


So, the use of styles are not okay, used for the "Elements" for added special effects?

Note: The shadows on the styles can be eliminated, if that is an issue.

Almost finished - nearly. One element to do but need a crash course in layered templates using papers, need to recheck my tou's and then I'm done.

I'm not positive I understand your questions. You may use styles on any of your elements provide the style is a commercial use style. Feel free to PM me, or Ambowife, any TOU's that are not clear. We are more than happy to help.

Shadows are okay, but most scrappers prefer to add their own shadows. It is recommend that you save your elements without shadows.

As for TOU's, I usually avoid the ones longer than a few lines, they all seem to contradict what you can and can't do, leaving a lot to interpretation I think.

And can I say thank you to the designers for keeping me going, your tips really helped a lot.

I just bought Booland's Styles: as it is closet to the color theme I'm going with in my scrap kit & the only thing it seems to state is not to duplicate her work for sale. So, I'm under the impression that it is okay to use her Styles in my elements.
