Week 3: The Alpha

Hiya Lindz, could you check and see if the you named the folder on your C drive correctly?
The sound of the error you describe indicates that might be the problem. It needs to be the exact name as you find in the instructions or the action will not be able to save the .png's.
It should be c://Quick Alpha Saver

Also when you are done creating your alpha, did you make sure you were left with your 1 flattened layer before you run the action?

I'll be out all day, hopefully it works when you when use the flattened layer and check your folder on the c: drive. I'll check back tonight and see.

Thank you. So.. I never thought to look for instructions... I am new to this. Made my first alpha! Thank you for your help. I should have mine posted by tomorrow sometime =)

I purchased it and used in CS5. The instructions said to create a folder on the C drive before running it. That's where your letters will be placed as the action runs. The lower case and numbers actions ran well with file names added correctly. The upper case ran, but did funky things mixing up file names, sort of assigning names randomly to the letters.

Wow! So many pretty Alpha Sets I actually can't wait to finish mine that I started last week but I don't have an action and just create a photoshop template and save each individually after flattening the layers. I'm pretty close but I spent all weekend putting together a playset in the backyard (we still aren't done with the kids new apartment LOL) since my plans to visit my Mom changed till next month. However, seeing as how I can be the ultimate procrastinator... I am finishing my Federal Tax Return today to submit online as it is due by Midnight!! I will have my Alpha Set in by Thursday though

Hmmmm not sure why it would do that. I've used the action for quite a while when I still had my windows based laptop and never had that happen to me. Would be quite interesting to know what caused that to happen.

This action won't work on a Mac, I have created a new one for Mac a while back, just haven't had time to add it to the store yet.

I bought and used the action but I only have cs4. Had no problems except for creating the full sheet. Sometimes it said it couldn't do it with some of the fonts/style. No problem though because I don't put the full sheet in my file anyway because most customers prefer the individual files. At least my experience. Thanks by the way it was so helpful!

Mine did this because the numbers is saved under the upper case and the upper case is saved under the numbers. They are switched. That is how mine is anyway.. Once I figured that out I got everything to work fine. Thank you!

If you look in the right corner there is a place with a down arrow that says photo options...click on that and then click on edit photo.

I posted my alpha in the gallery but forgot to post here! I used the dark pink from my palette because I think it shows off the glitter better than the other colors. Hope you enjoy using this.
