Default May Photography Challenge - 'Up Close & Personal'

Sorry, ladies, I'm running a little late this month

May's challenge is all about getting up close and personal! Zoom in on the subject, give your macro a run, and show us what things look like in detail.

Any subject is fine - people, flowers, animals, insects... it's entirely up to you! If you use a point and shoot, be sure to use your Macro setting, usually illustrated as a flower symbol.

I will be back shortly with my example

Enjoy, and happy snapping!!!

From the Piggy Re: May Photography Challenge - 'Up Close & Personal'

I have one! This is one of my alltime favorites. I took this last fall of Cole during a trip to Holland. I love his freckles.

Oooo, I LOVE it!!! What gorgeous freckles, and beautiful blue eyes! Toiny, I think he's going to make a few hearts flutter in his lifetime

Hmm, I have a couple, but I hope to take a new one sometime this weekend while I'm up in the mountains. But here are these 2 for now...

This one is Henry, playing in the rain & mud. I love the droplets and his big brown eyes...

And these were some cupcakes I made for Melbourne Cup (a famous Australian horse race, dubbed 'The race that stops the nation'). We always have a luncheon, run a sweepstake, then cheer as the race is being run - it's so fun! I tried to decorate the cupcakes in racing colors...

ROFL! Christine! Dane just came home... and he sees the picture of Henry:

"Who's dat?"

"Henry." I tell him.

"Oh. Can you just put him a little back?" ROFL! I'm guessing Dane is not a big fan of macro's.

I, on the other hand, love that shot of him looking so pensive. Those raindroplets are too awesome.

As for Cole... man he wishes he was fluttering hearts now. Thirteen is a tough age.

Smooches,

T

I love using the macro setting on my camera as it's the only way to get shallow depth of field on my point and shoot. Here's a photo I took in December as part of my 'Journal your Christmas' album:

Will have to get out and take some more close ups!

This was the first "daring" thing I'd done to my hair. I got a small amount of black put into it. Can I just say that I LOVE it!!! It almost makes me wish I had the guts to do hot pink or something like that. But I won't.

I didn't do anything to this pic, it's raw... if I get around to making it look good, I'll post it. And I just realized that you can see my son in the background, lol!!

Hehehe... I like your son best! Thought that black is amazing. Awesome! I didn't even know that was something to do to hair. I'd love blue some day.. maybe when I'm an old lady LOL.

Wonderful shot!

Smooches,

T

I found a couple of visitors on my patio the other day and thought they would love to be a part of this challenge. First up is a little darling with the most delicate wings and a fierce look on his face:

This guy showed up to look over the railing at our first guest. I am still not sure if it was a friendly visit or the begining of a confrontation. And I am not sure who would win, they both look pretty mean.

On the somewhat lighter side, this is why I come to the patio. It is surrounded by roses bushes. This year we have houndreds of blooms on the bushes.

Great phototaking by all, love the variety here.

I took photos of 3 different blossoms on my Mother's day azalea plant.
