I had so much fun and made a lot of stuff, the most difficult part was to decide what to keep.

Default Patterned paper vs solid

Does the "patterned" paper actually have to be a "pattern" or do you say pattern as in more than one color?

Thanks Toiny.... I do have lighter colors in the papers though some are dark.... I will make sure the elements are definately on the "lighter" side of the colors I chose.

One quick question... do we need to include the swatch on our preview? Don't believe it said we had to but some are and some aren't.... just want to be sure.

I decided to leave mine as it is. I used a lot of the dark blue but there also quite a bit of pastel blue and white. I am not going to have any more time this weekend to work on it and I like it so here it is...

My reasoning behind the theme is explained in the gallery.

Here is mine. I am new to designing things (as in this is my first time). It was a challenge for sure, but I think I learned some things in the end too! Thanks for letting us newbies try this out.

Very new here - as you can see by my 3 posts or so!! Mine is up in the gallery....of course, I thought today was the fourth so I spent most of last night and today getting it done only to find out I had another 48 hours. Oops! Should watch that clock a little closer.....but enough rambling. LOL

I am NOT a fan of pastels - so this was a true challenge for me. I too reached for the dark blue and grey quite a bit. But it was a challenge - and I suppose that's the purpose of the contest!! So glad I found you guys in time to participate! It seems like an awesome place!

Thanks for having me

And after all my rambling - I forgot to ask my question! LOL

Will we get the feedback from the judges so we know where are strengths/weaknesses were? I would TRULY love to know so I can obviously improve and not make the same mistakes over and over, as well as continuing to do the things well that were right.

Thanks again!

From the Piggy Re: NDC Round 1: Daybreak

Answers to questions:
  • No, the palette does not need to be included in the preview.
  • A pattern must be a whole-paper pattern, not color variation.
  • You will not get feedback from the judges this round, there are simply too many of you to make this feasible. We would not be able to do all of you justice.

oops looks like I might bomb out first round as I considered two of my pattern papers to be pattern but based on the above then they're not patterned...oh well it was fun

I took a quick peek at your preview, those look like patterns to me. I must be phrasing myself wrong.

Someone help! Tracy? Kim? What am I trying to say?
