Nope, that's completely up to you But, just a suggestion, a kit really should have at least one solid/semi-solid to offset the patterns

If you go to the main gallery page, you can also choose: theStudio Special Events (it's a link) --> Birthday Bash 2011 --> Second Chance Design Contest. HTH!

When you say no modifications... what about moving the Personal Use wording to the other side.... as I always put my design label in the left hand corner.... no worries if we cannot, I am sure I can find another place for it.

Thanks

I think since the words are still there it's not really a change. I noticed another designer did it as well, so I'm going to say YES on this one.

I am going back over elements and really trying to look at each of them with a fine tooth comb. I noticed on one of my elements, there are some slight jaggies. Nothing really noticeable, but I would still rather fix them. Does anyone have a suggestion of the best way to accomplish this. I know that I could just go in and erase, but I'm hoping there is a cleaner way to do this. I'm using PSE, but I also have GIMP (I use it for the pen tool). My hubby has the real photoshop, so I could hop over to his computer. So any techniques that work in the above programs would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!

In photoshop I would select the element (ctrl/cmd click on the icon in the layer palette), then make sure one of the selection tools is active and click on the refine edge button on the tool bar. Play around with the settings in the dialogue box, but you'll probably need to contract the selection slightly and adjust the smoothing slider. Not sure which version of Photoshop introduced this command, but I have CS4 and it's in there. Not sure if anything similar is available in PSE or GIMP.

Hope this helps (and that I've explained clearly!!)

Oops... forgot to add, once you're happy with the new selection (which should be slightly smaller than the original), invert the selection and delete. Jaggies should then be gone.

Janis

Thanks Janice! That's how I do it, too... I believe PSE does have the refine edge feature, it's under the select menu

Thanks! That worked perfectly. I did have that option in PSE.

When you use the pen tool to make a shape in ps on the curved sections at 100% zoom, the line has a slightly rough jaggy edge to it. It can be fixed using the above technique, but I did not know if that is considered a jaggy or is that just normal.

Hello Everyone,

I decided to jump back on the horse and try for the Second Chance Challenge. Thank you to everyone who encouraged me to not be distressed and to never give up!

Thank you for the preview template and the challenge. Every kit I make teaches me something new.

Kristina

Here's my Summer Afternoon mini for the 2nd chance competition. Thanks Toiny for giving us an option to continue. Whatever the outcome, it's great experience for all of us! Good Luck everyone!

Hi Ya'll,
I was unable to join in the original contest so I saw I could jump in to this Second Chance. I home school my 3 youngest sons and we just started school. Our first High School year, an extra challenge. So here is my preview and link:

Everyone has done a wonderful job!!
