Glue. Scissors. Mouse.
![]() Welcome to theStudio's Hybrid Artist CT Competition! You can find general rules & info here. | Week 3 Challenge | Gifts & Goodies This week it's all about sharing those hybrid skills with your friends & family... we're making gifts & goodies! Hybrid & printable crafts have become one of the most popular ways to show you care for so many reasons. They're inexpensive, convenient to make since you can often use supplies you have on hand, plus it's so easy to personalize each gift to the recipient! Take a look at some of our favorite hybrid / printable gifts from around the web: ![]() ![]() Adorable yet simple! There is inspiration all around and once you start looking, you'll see hybrid goodness everywhere. | Week 3 Instructions | This week you have a choice! 1. You must create: a) one (1) hybrid gift examples: small hostess gift, feel better gift, new to the neighborhood gift, etc. OR b) three (3) coordinating hybrid party favors examples: mini treat bags, little treats decorated suitably for party favors OR c) three (3) coordinating small hybrid giftable goodies examples: candy wrappers, decorated cupcakes, etc. 2. You may use any digital kit currently available in theStudio's Shop. 3. SECRET INGREDIENT: None! 4. Upload your completed project to the Hybrid Artist CT Competition Gallery no later than 24 Sept 11:59 PM. 5. You must list proper credit for ALL supplies used to complete your project. | Objectives | We're looking for these important hybrid skills: 1. Use a digital product to create something non-scrapbooking. 2. Be creative! We're NOT looking for fancy or elaborate; we're looking for gifts & goodies people would actually make and give. 3. Ability to photograph your hybrid project to show off its beauty. Remember if you intend to participate you MUST sign up by 22 Sept 11:59 PM! Feel free to chat & share your projects in this thread! |

This type of hybrid project may be new territory for some of you, but don't worry! We're here to answer any questions throughout the week!

This is indeed new territory for me! Is this a complete new design of something (not using a template)? Thanks for your help.

We want you to create something with supplies you normally would use and/or most likely have on hand (unless you just ran out LOL). Think about the types of gifts you normally give a teacher or prepare for your kids' parties. For more inspiration try searching Pinterest for things like 'diy gifts' or 'printable gifts'. There's tons of yummy stuff on there!

Could the hybrid gift be something you would create for kids like a game that they could play over and over (I'd hope anyways)? I'm thinking it might fit in the first option best, but I wanted to check. Given the fact things like this are always on my mind homeschooling my kids I wanted to see if it was okay before I began. If you want more gifty then I can go that way instead.

Can we use a template that we have gotten someplace else but use a product available in the Studio for the design? Does that make sense... my brain is fuzzy today, sorry.
So can I use a kit I've purchased from here at the Studio, but the template that the gift is based on was from a different designer? Still searching my external hard drive for what I was looking for so I'm not sure right off who the designer is, for all I know there are here! ![]() Thanks for the clarification. |

![]() So hope you're able to get some more! You actually have through Sat, Sept 24, to complete the challenge this week, too. Hopefully that helps!

Thanks for posting about the date again, I still had it in my head it was by Friday! Now I have one more day, and the way this week is going I think I'm going to need it!

I normally need every minute when doing something like this, but this week, I'm going to have to get mine finished by Friday lunchtime as we're away for the weekend. Nothing like adding an extra bit of stress to a working day, eh?!!!!

I thought this task was too daunting at first, but finally got inspired and did something simple and predictable. THanks for looking!

Here is my label up close and my printing sheet also.
![]() [IMG] [/IMG]Finally, here is my inspiration piece: I made it a couple of months ago and when I saw it in my files this week, it inspired me!

Woah, those labels and the homemade jams, etc are gorgeous! I am afraid I have been nowhere near as adventurous, sticking to things that I often make for gifts - a gift box (for choccies, smellies and so on), a notebook (so useful to carry around) and a gift card. Very predictable

I've been trying not to comment on specific projects each week until entries are closed, but I just want to take a second to say to all of you :
Don't be so hard on yourselves, ladies!!! You're all being very self critical and you needn't be. We specifically asked you for things you would really make as actual gifts; we weren't expecting you to revolutionize the gift industry in 5 days LOL. We're more interested in your ability to use your supplies in real life than an amazing ability to think up the most creative gift idea ever. So hang in there! Love your hybrid skills as your loved ones will adore your gifts!

Okay, I finished mine. I made a box of chocolates to use as a gift. I used a reusable craft box, scrapped a page for the top, one for the inside, added some flowers, ribbon and chocolate and now have a fabulous gift my mother is going to love
On the inside I added little notes that she will see after the chocolate is gone. ![]() ![]() ![]() I used the kit "Happy Birthday!" by the Studio Design Team! |
