Journaling reads: My “hero” is a pair, my daughter-in-law and her sister. At the age of 25, DIL gained custody of her troubled 15-year-old sister. Today, the troubled teen is a successful single parent, an officer in the military, and has nursing degrees from a major medical university. None of it was easy, but I attribute her success to my daughter-in-law. So my “hero ” story has a pair of heroes: the 25-year-old who tackled the challenge and the 15-year-old who has succeeded far beyond her statistical expectation.
