Here is my ATC on the subject, "Inspiration to live by."
Every generation seems to have its armed conflict. For mine, it was the Viet Nam War. For the younger set who may not know the history, the young men (mostly) who answered their country's call to duty during that time were not regarded as the national heroes they are today. Being the visible symbol of a war that polarized this nation, they often took the brunt of the opposition's wrath. This quote, albeit in a slightly more profane version, became a way for these boys to cope with the horrors they were experiencing both at home and abroad. I used this quote myself to get me through my own emotionally upsetting times during this period. Worked for me.
What I love about doing ATCs is the size. For me anyway, once I have a concept in mind, I can just start playing with elements and rearranging things and suddenly, as in this case, you look at it and it all just WORKS. I'd planned to change the typeface and size of the quote, but, when I got in on the card and looked at it, I really liked it being small. I love it when a plan comes together.
And, for you older ones out there, in this explanation, I just used two quotes from an old fun TV show I used to watch, kinda a guilty pleasure.
