Kaline likes to be in the room Mommy is in. In the evening and when we’re home on weekends, that means being in the living room near the love seat when Mommy and Daddy watch TV. The loveseat Mommy sits on is starting to get a bit ragged!
Daddy bought her a very nice post. It’s big with rope wrapped around it like the post part of the housie she likes upstairs. She won’t touch the expensive big post.
Mommy brought in a new post that is smaller and all carpet with a puffy ball on a spring on top, like the one she used to share with Aunt Azzie. She’d still rather scratch on the loveseat!
In an attempt at getting her more interested in the new post, the top is now treat-covered. She spent a lot of time trying to get the treats without touching the post!

I love your journaling and the pic of Kaline trying to eat treats with out touching the new pole. reminds me of the saying...dogs have masters, cats have staff. LOL
Aww this is so cute! Has your kitty warmed up to the post yet? If not try rubbibg some catnip All over it...HTH! Then she may like it better and if you have something she sleeps on rub that it first then use the catnip!!

I love your layout! Cats are SO funny. I've found that if I rub something of mine that has my scent on it my kitty will be more comfortable with new stuff. Have to say though that it hasn't worked with HER new scratching pole, lol! I've never had any luck using catnip - my SweetPea just doesn't respond to it at all.

Cute layout and story. LOL
I too would rub that pole anywhere the kitty may leave a scent, and I would put that post directly where the corner she scratches on the loveseat is, like a blockade. I would forget the treats and catnip thou.
