I started doing counted cross stitch in 1982, when I was still in high school. I found this kit for a sailing ship ornament in the bargain bin and thought I'd teach myself how to do it. I enjoyed it so much and loved the way the little ornament turned out, that it became a staple hobby! My great-great grandma quilted, great grandma did smocking, both of my grandmothers crocheted and my Grandma, who has taken up quilting too, does the best appliqué work! My Mom rug hooked. In my crafty family of women, counted cross stitch is all mine!
