When Christmas is on the weekend, we spend the actual holiday in Connecticut with David’s family, making use of a few extra travel days. When it’s during the week, we spend it with my family in closer Michigan. We get together with whichever side we don’t see for the actual day a week or two before.

Since we don’t get to spend every Christmas eve or day with both sides, it makes the traditions mean a little more and makes that family holiday time a little bit more special for us both. This is my Aunt telling the story of the first Christmas followed by the whole family singing “Silent Night” and “Away In A Manger.”
