Thanks for using For the Birds. I love how the colors in your daughter's flowers match the colors of the papers and elements you used. As for shadowing the tree, it depends on what look you're trying to achieve. If you wanted the tree to look like it's part of the paper, you need to move it down to a layer below the ribbons. Since it's on top of the ribbons, I'd add some shadow to it to make it pop out more. Again, elements to the tree is a matter of personal preference. I've seen it done very successfully. Personally though, I think in this case it would just take away from the picture of your lovely daughter.
