When I was going to school in the primary grades (1-4), we went to a one-room-schoolhouse down the road. When it was really cold or icy, my father would hitch up the horse to the wagon and give us a ride!
This page is part of this reminisce but the photo is not of me; it's of my mother-in-law when she was a teenager... Lovely, isn't it? And maybe they did go to school in that buggy, didn't they?
