My GG grandfather’s age in this civil war photo is unknown, but he was only 20-25 while in the war. My mother had this photo.
He was captured toward the end of the war, but exchanged and was among those who escorted President Davis from NC to Washington, GA
May 9, 1865. Both of his parents had died during the war in 1863 and 1864.
He became a farmer, married in 1869 and raised 9 children.
