One of my dearest memories of my mother is when I had polio at 6. I was kept at home in bed, with no one but immediate family entering the house. Mother entertained a bed-ridden 6-year-old for 8 months! Only a mother could have done it.

The fonts I used were Elfring Elite and Manuscript Wide. The poem is The Child's Quest by Frances Shaw.

Oh, my, this layout speaks directly to me! Great scrapping of emotion. I simply 'ache' for this little girl. Could be the wistful look.. the lack of coloring.. don't know exactly what/how to describe my reaction to it. Just love it!

I'm with Robbie on this one. This one brought a tear to my eye (well actually, just a bit more than one). That photograph is just so awesome! Very moving, thanks for sharing this.

What an endearing ode to your Mother who really had to surpassed mountains to nurse you through your polio illness. I hope that your results from that illness were not too severe. Love your fabulous journaling and that so touching poem.
