Katherine saw the episode of the television show “Friends” where Phoebe proclaimed that “it’s a known fact that lobsters fall in love for life”. It came to mind after Mickey told her that she was his “Filet Mignon”, because it was the best thing on the menu and he couldn’t believe that he had the best girl ever as his own. She shared the story of the lobsters with him, and they agreed that they were each other’s lobster. That’s how the tradition of saying “you’re my lobster!” came about for them. To them it means they are soul mates and will be together always. Even though they found out that it isn’t true that lobsters mate for life, they continue to hold them as a symbol of their love. Mickey looks for them everywhere he goes. He gave Katherine a necklace with a small lobster charm that she always wears. Another gift was a small jeweled lobster-shaped trinket box. One day not too long ago, Mickey shared a lunch date with me and Ryland, and afterwards we looked around in a small antique shop that we love. To my surprise, the boy child found a metal lobster wall hanging, and he bought it for Katherine. He even showed her that the antennae were in the shape of a heart. I raised such a sweet boy!
