Since there are only 2 of us, we can never finish a whole package of hamburger or hot dog buns, and the commercially sold ones don't freeze well. This recipe will make 4 of each or 8 of one, and they freeze perfectly. I highly recommend SAF instant yeast from either Amazon or King Arthur flour for these. I only use KAF unbleached flour, and I bake these on a silicone sheet. Cool, bag, freeze, then 20 seconds in the microwave, and you have a fresh, tasty, hot bun for your burger or hot dog that will beat anything you can buy. Make larger shapes for a great sub roll.

I am SO EXCITED to try these out! You're right about freezing the store bought buns -- not good! Thanks for the wonderful recipe and cute card!

I have not made HB or HD buns. This sounds like so much fun. Thank you for the recipe and the great card.
