On New Year’s Eve, 2009, Lake Tahoe had a huge snow storm. Ted and I decided to drive up on New Year’s morning to enjoy the mountains. We found a storybook Winter Wonderland! The sky was a brilliant, cloudless blue, the air was crisp and clean and the world was blanketed in pristine, sparkling snow. We spent the day hiking, taking pictures and enjoying the beautiful area. By the end of the day, the sun had started to melt some of the snow on the roofs and incredible icicles had formed - some reaching from eaves to the ground. With the setting sun shining, they were like strands of twinkle lights on all the buildings. That New Year’s Day, 2010, will always be one of the days that stand out in my mind when I think of special times Ted and I have shared.
