I used Maurine's provided kit for the challenge. Her kits are always fantastic and this one is no exception. I think it is one of my favorites. Thank you Maurine for the kit and all of the hard work you do on the challenge. I am a good house keeper and a good mom. I make pottery, I scrapbook, and I paint. I just never learned how to sew. So, this rule has been in effect for my mending basket since my children were very young. The rule states, "Be sure everything is in usable condition needing only minor mending. Be sure to clean, dry and fold the items. Using a piece of paper and one of the small safety pins attached to the basket, make a note of the problem and pin it to the correct area of the item to be mended. Once the basket is full, I will take it to church, where one of the wonderful and talented ladies that can do mending so well, will fix it to be taken to the homeless shelter. Remember, items placed in the basket may also be in perfectly good condition, requiring no mending at all. I will still take them to church." This works every time!
