The journaling reads:
As I dislike cold weather, I anticipate the warmer days and sunshine that comes with spring. The month of March means spring is just days away. As the end of March approaches, I begin looking for the sign that tells me spring has arrived—the blooming of the dogwood trees. I watch intently to see when the first blossoms have opened as I drive down the highway or walk up the street. They are the first color to appear in the leafless sea of brown tree trunks and bushes. Their white and pink blossoms brighten the scenery until the first leaves begin to appear. Those opening blossoms are the sure sign the winter has ended and warm days are here. I will soon be able to discard winter gear and be warm for a few months. For me, it's not officially spring until the dogwoods bloom.
