Day In North America is an annual contest by Railroads Illustrated magazine. The challenge is for railfans to go out and photograph trains near home an submit them to the magazine for an issue that depicts trains from all over the continent on that one day. In 2005, we had, instead of the normal picturesque snow and a prayer for a bit of sun during the day to shoot, rain. We made our best attempt to use the weather in our favor and with tripods and umbrellas, set up hoping for a night train bursting through the fog.
It ended up raining too hard for decent fog for the photos!
(But I did get to show David how to make footprints on the truck window in the fog with your hands!)
