Summer Afternoon - by Rose Thorn
I started out in one direction and ended in a completely different one... I seem to evolve my designs as I go, like I imagine it might be for a sculptor.
Thoughts of 'summer afternoon' got me thinking about strolls through the park, surrounded by nature and feeding the ducks. These thoughts eventually brought me to memories the Boston Commons and Public Gardens, a place I frequented often in the past, having worked in the area for 15 years.
The swan in the kit was hand drawn by me with a photo of the swan boats in the Boston Public Gardens as inspiration. The iron elements are meant to represent the old iron gates around the park, the cobblestone paper reflects the walkways found in varies areas of the city, and the Duck border was inspired by the park's bronze, duck sculptures by Nancy Schön, which were themselves inspired by the children's book, 'Make Way For Ducklings', by Robert McCloskey.
This kit includes 6 digital papers and 21 elements (plus 2) which include:
Triple Brad Fastener
Cluster of a heart, feathers, stone and wood (1 shadowed, 1 not)
2 Iron Flourishes
Row of Ducks
3 Frames (and 1 'odd' shaped mask to match)
2 Leaf Elements
