Dearest Diary, June 5, 1917
On this beautiful summer afternoon,
Clyde took me for a stroll. How exciting
it was to see all the beautiful flowers along
the way. And then, a wonderful surprise!
He proposed to me, and of course I said
“Yes!” I can’t wait to become Mrs. Clyde
Jent. The memories I will be able to carry
with me as I relive this moment. The flowers,
the warmth of the day, the stroll, and most
of all the Question!
I immediately went home, and told mother.
She was so pleased that he had ask for my
hand in marriage.
My sisters, Lelia and Lois were excited as
well. Mother, Lelia, Lois, and myself began
to plan the wdding. Clyde and I had set the
date for the 11th of November in the year of
1917.
