Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but what if you couldn’t see all the beauty around you?
Could you imagine a world out of focus or dark?
That is my reality and it is just a matter of time before my sight disappears. Since I have a job and health care insurance, there is hope that when it goes the surgeons will be able to eventually give me back some of my sight.
But what about those who don’t have the means to pay for specialist or even glasses to correct their vision? There is a wonderful worldwide organization The Lions Club that has gained worldwide recognition for their work to improve site thru 17 world wide centers. In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness."
This beautiful collab looks as if it contains items that Helen Keller would have had in her home, yet would have been unable to actually see. However that would not have prevented her from appreciating the beauty of the textures in the papers or ribbons by running her hand over them, from smelling the flowers, feeling the tick tock of the pocket watch or even caressing the smooth china of the tea cup.
In all this collab contains:
19 textured papers, 1 bow, 9 flowers, 3 foliage, 5 frames, 1 pocket watch, 1 mat, 1 knot, 1 rickrack, 2 bow, 1 clip, 2 tag, 2 doilies, 1 metal bit, 2 scenic tags, 1 book plate, 2 twirled ribbon, 1 chain / bead boarder, 1 ribbon loop, 1 trim, 1 pin, 1 wrap, 1 heart, 1 butterfly, & 1 journal paper.
