We, as scrapbookers, spend countless hours preserving memories, memories that are funny, tragic, or joyful, but memories that are precious. However, for those with Alzheimer’s Disease, those memories are lost, and eventually even the body’s memory of how to keep its own heart beating is taken from it.
September 21st is World Alzheimer’s Day, a day when the Alzheimer's Association joins with organizations and people around the globe to raise awareness about Alzheimer's and its impact on our families, communities and nations. Today, 35 million people worldwide are affected by Alzheimer's and related dementias, and this number is growing rapidly. World Alzheimer's Day is an opportunity to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease and the need for more education, support, and research.
The Way We Were is a Studio Design Team collaboration that will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association in their efforts to understand and find a cure for this cruel disease. Your purchase of this kit will not only help you preserve your memories, but may go a little way towards helping a family affected by Alzheimer’s preserve theirs.
