NDC 0096 - Fresh and Clean

NDC 0096 - Fresh and Clean

Some human needs are so basic, so obvious, that when we think of good causes, we don't even consider them. In America, we are very concerned with many rights for many people - but I have never personally heard of the right of a clean drink of water being fought for in America. It's just so obvious. The poorest, most destitute person has access to public restrooms or outdoor fountains with clean, safe water. This is not to downplay poverty in America, but there are places in the world where people do not even have access to clean drinking water. It defies all reason for me as an American that such great need can exist!

Yet through my friendship with a board member of the St Paul Partners of the Tanzania Water Development Partners, I have learned that in many places in Tanzania, there is no access to clean drinking water. They drink contaminated water from local rivers and streams (which are like giant toilets for many animals!), causing many diseases including dysentery, hepatitis, and cholera. When my little granddaughter relishes a simple cup of water that I can give her on demand, I sometimes think of the mothers and grandmothers who cannot even provide that simple joy, that basic necessity, for their children. How awful that must be!

Because I know of them personally, I know that the St Paul Partners are doing good work in Tanzania. They use donations to actually install wells, and on their web site, you can find a map with all of their projects and see the results of what they actually do. In addition, they are focused on passing on knowledge of safe water hygiene and health education, giving each local community the power to develop their own healthy future. They train and employ Tanzanian citizens who then go into further communities and train one another. Rather than being condescending or paternal in their teaching, the Partners are helping to empower a nation for their safe and healthy future. But it costs money to do this (of course). Which is why four amazing Studio designers (Linda Cumberland, Lynn Griffin, Monika Digital Designs, and SKrapper Digitals) have come together to create this beautiful kit called Fresh & Clean. The fresh, soft, beautiful colors are perfect for scrapping your whole family. And when you purchase this kit, you know that you are helping families just like yours to enjoy fresh, clean drinking water and a healthy future!

Included in the kit are:

19 papers (1 is png, worn edges)

45 elements as follows:

7 flowers

5 frames

4 tags

3 bows

3 branches of foliage (2 green, one chrystal white)

3 doilies

3 ribbons

1 journaling paper

1 knotted ribbon with eyelet
