Feastive Fruits QP

Feastive Fruits QP

Oops!! (I spent an amazing length of time, quality checking this QP and Kit to within an inch of it's life. BUT I missed one glaringly obvious check when creating my previews. SPELL CHECK! lol )

I would have happily chosen the obvious Autumn/harvest theme for this challenge, but as I have already created an apple/harvest time mini for my store collab, I just couldn't get inspired to create another Autumn apple kit.

I did play around with a halloween theme, but nothing concrete came from that.

Instead, I went on a quest for inspiration and picked up a little bit of everything on the way.

Apple Cider, led me to West Country, where I holidayed. Plymouth during the summer. It has the most amazing 16th Century Elizabethian Heritage; think Sir Francis Drake.

Elizabethian textiles are so rich and ornamental.

In my seach , I came upon a William Morris tapestry (19th century Scottish artist and textile designer) with an apple tree as the basis of his design.

Which brought me back to Scotland and eating apples, and the childhood memory of waking on Christmas morning, to a stocking filled with lots of little presents and an APPLE and a tangerine.

So decision made: Christmas became my theme.

I took my palette from the collections of apples, which were as rich as Elizabethian textiles.

And inspiration from William Morris, for my paper patterns and my Christmas Apple Tree.

Feastive Fruits, is a little bit whimsical, a little bit grown up and a big bit nostalgic.

The rich, warm, apple colours, emote memories of sights and smells of Christmas Day and a definate feeling of Comfort and Joy.
