This lo was done for the September Layout Design Challenge – Week 1

Journaling:
School Days
Grace Lutheran School
Grade 2
April 26, 1955
School days, school days.
Dear old golden rule days.
Reading and writing and 'rithmetic.
Taught to the tune of a hickory stick.

Note: I added more shadow to the flowers and the frames and made the shadows lighter as well as darking the frames. Hope this looks better

JUDGE - The shadows here look good to me. I love the little "me" block with the arrow - nice touch.

JUDGE - I love the theme of the LO and the way you've split the photo. Very nice. Though I'm wondering about the shadows. It looks like you've made their color a light grey; too light to be an actual shadow. Around the frames they look more like a mat than a shadow and the flower's shadow next to the word 'School' (lower right) gives an odd effect, like it's eating into the letter 'S'. I suggest darkening the shadow's color and playing around with it a bit. The rest of the LO looks great.
