In case my journaling can't be read:
My son Rick has great difficulties at school. Two years ago he started to learn reading and writing. This was very difficult for him. His teacher told us he just needed to practice more at home and then everything would work out fine. The next year he had fallen far behind with his reading and writing, but according to his teacher we where the problem. I got angry then and incisted he should get more help. The remedial teacher then tested him and found out he didn't even know the letters he was supposed to have learned the year before. He finally got extra help, but Rick started to hate school and felt it was him who was to stupid to learn. This year I'm so happy he finally has a teacher who understands and helps him. She made sure he will be tested again, cause she thinks he may be dyslectic. Finally something is happening to help him. Most important is though that just because she understands Rick and helps him he is happy to go to school again.
It hurts though that is has to take two years before he finally get the help every kid should have when they are having problems.
