Journaling reads: It used to happen every year at the end of summer, about an hour-and-a-half east of Vancouver, there was a world-reknown Sandcastle compeition. People came from all over the world to compete and to view the works of art. It’s truly amazing the masterpieces that are created are absolutely phenomenal. I can remember trying to make a sandcastle as a child and it took forever and never stayed put together! The only materials they are allowed to use are sand and water and what they do is compress the sand and water into forms. After the sculptures are done they do two things to them. one is they spray them with an environmentally friendly substance that helps them to last for about a month without drying out and crumbling. The second thing is they insert wires into the sculptures to help stop the crows from landing on them The sculptures are roped off with string.
